WHO ARE WE?
Don Fe is a UK born musician/producer who for the last 20 years has been based in Southern Spain. This is where he spends almost all his time playing, recording and producing music that is played over some of the worlds biggest soundsystems.
Organic Roots Records is a relatively new Madrid based label dedicated to the expansion of roots, dub and sound system culture. This is to be their second release after a 10 inch featuring Mahom and alongside Vibronics and Don Fe.
WHAT WE WANT TO DO
Music is food for the soul, and with this album Don Fe nourishes us with a refreshing blend of modern production techniques alongside the essence of roots. 14 tracks (7 flute/melodica instrumentals and 7 dubs) heavily influenced by the sounds of the 80’s and 90’s UK sound system scene it aims to provide a fresh take on roots music without losing sight or respect for the essence of it’s foundation.

Another of the main objectives of the project is to develop a more direct link from the artist / producer to the listener, which in turn nurtures a healthy, fair and sustainable relationship with the record label – something which is often hard to find in todays world (both for the artist / producer and the label) due to the small nature of the roots / dub scene and the ever increasing costs of production, distribution etc.

The album is already recorded and therefore we only need to raise the funds for a run of 1000 copies and the necessary promotion/distribution costs.
